sam + nick | hingham styled engagement
earlier last year, i was contacted by a lovely makeup artist (hannah beth, worcester) who was interested in doing a collaboration shoot with me. from the moment hannah and i first chatted, i knew i wanted to go big with this shoot and pull other local vendors in. by doing this, i knew that we could all learn from one another while also reaping the benefits of exposure from one other’s featured posts.
a friend of mine from college whom i had worked with in the student center for two years (sam) had just recently gotten engaged to her long-time boyfriend nick, so when i asked them if they'd be interested in having some engagement photos done for free, they jumped at the opportunity.
the hunt for local vendors was now ON.
i asked elena viapiano, owner of baked (rutland) if she'd be interested in supplying a small cake, and she was in. i had helped her re-design her bakery logo earlier in the year and thought this would be the perfect chance to work together again! (and i couldn't have been happier with the result!)
the potting bench (quincy) came through with the most beautiful bouquet, flower crown, and centerpiece i had EVER seen. i was overly impressed with their work!
instagram-famous sarah of @Plan.tful had truly WOWed me with her hand-drawn illustrations and calligraphy, so I requested a fake invitation from her for the place setting as well.
last but not least, a dear friend of sam and i (marissa mahar) designed three AMAZING signs specifically for sam and nick to not only take photos with, but also to keep as wedding gifts. it was super thoughtful and they couldn't have come out better!
overall, the shoot was a huge success and everyone had a great time despite the heat in hingham that day. i absolutely cannot wait to shoot sam and nick's wedding in maine this september!
